Getting to Campus
Airport Information
Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW, aka
Metro-Wayne County) is the closest airport
servicing all major airline carriers
domestically and internationally. It is located
approximately 25 miles east of Ann Arbor.
Taxis, shuttles, and rental car agencies are
available. All forms of transportation accept
cash or credit cards. Driving time to Ann Arbor
from the Detroit Metro Airport is approximately
30-40 minutes.
SelectRide provides transportation between
the airport and Ann Arbor. SelectRide can be
reached at (734)663-8898 or toll free
(866)663-8898. The cost for this shared ride
shuttle service is $22 per person per one-way
trip. Please allow up to 3-hours of travel time
before you reach Detroit Metro Airport. On-line
reservations (http://www.selectride.com) must be
received 48-hours in advance. Telephone
reservations must also be made 48-hours in
advance of service date.
Commuter Airport Services can also be of
assistance. $40 charge door-to-door service to
the Metro Airport. They can be reached at (734)
327-0777.
If you choose to take a taxi the Ann Arbor
Yellow Cab is the area's largest and newest
fleet. Ann Arbor Yellow Cab can be contacted at
(734) 663-3355 (taxi fare approximately $45
one-way).

I-94 (Ford Freeway)
From Detroit (heading West)
Take I-94 West to the State Street exit (Exit
177). Turn right (north). Continue on State
Street approximately 2 miles to the main campus
area.
From Chicago (heading East)
Take I-94 East to the State Street exit (Exit
177). Turn left (north). Continue on State
Street approximately 2 miles to the main campus
area.
I-75/US-23
From Ohio (heading North)
Take US-23 North to the Washtenaw-"Ann Arbor"
exit (Exit 37B) and merge onto Washtenaw. At the
fork in the road where Stadium Blvd and
Washtenaw split (approximately 2-3 miles), stay
to the right on Washtenaw following the Hospital
signs. Take a left at Hill Street (you'll see
"The Rock"). Continue down Hill Street (campus
buildings will be on your right). Take a right
on State St. and continue two blocks to the
central campus area.
From Northern MI (heading South)
Take I-75 South to US-23 South to M-14 WEST.
Take Exit #3, called Downtown Ann Arbor; this
will become Main Street. Follow Main Street to
William Street. Take a left at William Street
and continue down William Street until it ends
at State St. and the central campus area.
I-275/I-696 (W.P. Ruether Freeway)
From Northwest Suburbs
Take I-696 to I-275 South to M-14 West.
Follow the M-14 West signs closely. Take Exit
#3, which is called "Downtown Ann Arbor", this
will become Main St. Follow Main St. to William
St. Take a left on William and follow until it
ends at State Street and the central campus
area.
I-96 (also called the Jeffries Freeway)
From Parts of Detroit, Redford, M-14, Plymouth
and Canton
Take I-96 to M-14 West. Follow M-14 West
signs closely. Take Exit #3, which is marked
"Downtown Ann Arbor"; this will become Main
Street. Follow Main Street to William Street.
Turn left on William Street and follow it until
it ends at State St. and the central campus
area.
From Lansing
Take I-96 East to US-23 South to M-14 WEST.
Take Exit #3, called Downtown Ann Arbor; this
will become Main Street. Follow Main Street to
William Street. Take a left at William St. and
continue down William Street until it ends at
State St. and the central campus area.
While On Campus

Airport Information
Travel to UT-Austin from Austin Bergstrom
International Airport (ABIA)
Here are three ways to get to campus from the
airport:
1. Capital Metro Bus System: Take the #100
bus to campus and downtown. It will only cost
$1.00 More information about bus schedules can
be found at www.capmetro.org/ROUT.HTML
2. Super Shuttle: This is a shared-ride van and
you don't need a reservation for travel from the
airport. Just head to "Ground Transportation"
and ask for the shuttle. A ride into town should
cost about $10.00. You can use this service on
your way back to the airport, but you do need a
reservation. Reservations can be made at
512-258-5286
3. Taxi cabs: there will be plenty of these
around in the front of the airport. Taxi service
to campus is about $20.00
Travel around
Austin:
Buses
Capital Metro is the most efficient way to
get around town. Regular city buses cost $.50
per trip. A special service in Austin called the
''Dillo'' provides free transit around downtown
and the campus area. The ''Gold'' and ''Red'' lines
of the ''Dillo'' can be caught at the corner of
22nd and Guadalupe and run very frequently.
